The G Protein Coupled Receptor -
Oligomerization Knowledge Base Project

If checked, GPCR-OKB will search for Oligomers.

Please specify the name of the oligomer of interest made up of the names of the protomers that form its constituent parts. The "Oligomer" option is checked by default.

Example: If you would like to retrieve information about an oligomer of the dopamine D2 receptor, you can either write "dopamine" or "D2".

If you select the "With Phenotypic Changes" option, you will limit your search to only oligomers with demonstrated phenotypic changes.

If you select the "With Proposed Interfaces" option, you can retrieve available information about predicted interfaces of dimerization/oligomerization.

If you select the "With In Vivo Evidence" option, you will limit your search to Oligomers for which at least one of the following 3 criteria are satisfied: 1) Evidence for physical association in native tissue or primary cells; 2) Identification of specific functional property in native tissue; 3) Use of knockout animals or RNAi technology. These criteria are NC-IUPHAR recommendations to recognize a bona fide functional GPCR oligomer, and were reported in detail in Pin J-P, et al., International Union of Basic and Clinical Pharmacology. LXVII. Recommendations for the Recognition and Nomenclature of G Protein-Coupled Receptor Heteromultimers. Pharmacological Reviews 2007, 59(1):1-9.

If you select the "Evidence for Physiological Relevance" option, you will limit your search to Oligomers for which at least two of the following 3 criteria are satisfied: 1) Evidence for physical association in native tissue or primary cells; 2) Identification of specific functional property in native tissue; 3) Use of knockout animals or RNAi technology.
